ACSR (Aluminum Conductor Steel Reinforced)
ACSR Steel-Reinforced Aluminium Conductors General Information
ACSR conductors are manufactured by stranding multiple aluminium wires and galvanized steel wires together, with the steel wires positioned at the center. The galvanized steel wires are stranded in the core and consist of 1, 7, 19, or 37 wires.
The outer diameters of the steel wire and aluminium wire are mostly identical; however, their diameters may differ depending on design requirements. The function of the steel core is to provide mechanical strength for the conductor.
